ABOUT THE ROLE:
A vacancy has arisen for a Project Engineer to join and support our growing Engineering Site Services team.
You will be responsible for the effective delivery of the site service projects from receipt of contract through to completion, by ensuring labour resources, materials, plant, and sub-contractors are allocated and managed effectively.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure all projects are planned, managed, and delivered effectively within agreed budgets.
Ensure the commercial and contractual elements of each project are understood – and works are planned and delivered accordingly.
Survey and scope site works providing sufficient information to produce or support the production of quotations for service works.
Support the production of significant quotations for service and related works.
Support/assist the Project and Service sales teams in maximising opportunities.
Continuously share information on project plans and progress to enable accurate revenue realisation, turnover forecasting, and labour scheduling.
Liaise with suppliers as required and ensure supplier deliverables are managed effectively.
Establish and maintain key relationships with customers – ensuring the customer is kept up to date in a timely manner regarding plans, progress, and any issues.
Attend site meetings and undertake site inspections when required.
Manage and maintain the highest possible standards of Health and Safety, in accordance with current legislation and procedures/policies laid down by the company.
Primary point of contact for the customer for all matters related to the delivery of the works.
Produce RAMS and other H&S documentation as the company and its clients require, utilising the experience of engineering and H&S staff across the company.
Manage own and team workload to ensure agreed deadlines are achieved.
Handing customers in a professional manner.
ABOUT YOU:
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar or related role within the mechanical engineering discipline, preferably in the water industry and a construction project environment.
Awareness of construction related regulations, e.g. CDM, LOLER, DSEAR, Confined Spaces etc.
Commercial awareness (forecasting, construction contracts, change management)
Experience in preparing RAMS.
Experience in preparing a Program of Works.
Flexibility to manage workload to take account of new deadlines and conflicting priorities.
Continuous Improvement mindset.
Excellent planning and organisation skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven experience of dealing with customers in a professional manner.
Solution orientated problem-solving ability.
Located within Southeast London / West Kent Region
Full driving license.
