The responsibility of the Project Engineer (Data) is to support the planning, execution, and close-out of construction projects under the direction of the BA and in conjunction with the assigned Project Managers per project. The Project Engineer (Data) will be assigned to multiple concurrent projects and may be assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the project's demands or projects in process at any time. The PC is responsible for reviewing preparation & processing time records for all job sites, to ensure accurate time and attendance records.
The Project Engineer will be knowledgeable and proficient in the systems and processes required by KENPAT and its customers. This includes knowledge and proficiency in all supporting systems, software, and technology to carry out the responsibilities. The Project Engineer (Data) will report to the Business Intelligence Analyst.

1. Execution / Project Management
1.1. Attends all job site meetings and internal coordination meetings. Document action items and follow up to ensure compliance by the responsible party.
1.2. Visits the job site as frequently as necessary, or be stationed at the job site to support the Business Intelligence Analyst and Superintendent.
1.2.1. Support manpower planning to meet project goals and deadlines. This may involve tracking their progress, providing man hours per area, identifying any issues in the way of achieving maximum productivity, and mapping areas and completion dates that will ensure that productivity targets are met.
1.2.2. Report incomplete predecessors to our Superintendent, ahead of time.
1.2.3. Set up new employees in time and attendance software
1.2.4. Keep an accurate active employee database, per job site
1.2.5. Verify that all employees are clocking in and out correctly and accurately (time and cost code)
1.2.6. Review timesheets, monitor attendance, and resolve any discrepancies in time so as not to hold up the processing of wages.
1.2.7. Create and manage Time and Materials tickets for project/s. Track labor and material costs and document changes to the project scope.
1.2.8. Maintain a photographic registry of the project. Take photos of the work site, document progress, and provide visual updates to team members. Organize and catalog photos using Autodesk Build, to ensure that they are easily accessible and searchable.
1.3. Compiles and inputs all project field reporting to KENPAT management software; resolves any problems with inaccurate, late or absent reporting. Work with Superintendent/s to ensure reporting that reflects all project issues and tracks accurately with weekly constraint log and formal notices.
1.4. Monitors work performance regarding project specifications and scope of work and works with the Superintendent to take action to resolve variances.
1.5. Create a weekly deficiency list for each project, by working with the Superintendent to identify project impacts (material delays, other trade impacts, schedule delays, etc.). Generate “informal” delay and impact notices and submit to the Project Manager for formal submission to the project team.
1.6. Responsible for productivity tracking and reporting using electronic measurement (such as DPC) and AI tools (such as Open Space)
1.7. Create 1 and 2-week look ahead plans for the Superintendent to identify crew production plans, area of work plans, and material stocking and procurement plans to give the field team a clear vision of work ahead.
2. Closeout / Post Construction Activity
2.1. Generate QC reports on field management software and track the completion of punch list items and quality issues.
3. General
3.1. Maintains a high level of expertise with the company’s project management system.
3.2. Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and clients.
3.3. Compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
3.4. Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
3.5. The Project Engineer may be required to assist the Superintendent(s) on certain tasks required for the project. However, the Project Engineer must not take over the duties of the Superintendent has daily/weekly responsibilities. (Ex. Daily reports, time sheets, safety documentation, delivery ticket verification and distribution, etc.)
3.6. Project Engineers will spend their day between job sites and the corporate office. With direction from the Business Intelligence Analyst. Weekly schedules should be planned to meet project needs while also being efficient with travel plans between projects.
Requirements:
1. 0-2 years of construction field and/or management experience.
2. Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and one or more project management systems (experience with the company’s current project management system.
3. Willingness to “roll up their sleeves” and do what is necessary to get the job done.
4. Honesty, integrity, and a strong desire to succeed.

6. Ability to deal tactfully with human issues with colleagues.
