Our Civil business is a division of the Business specialising in Infrastructure Construction, based around Reinforced Concrete. We are currently delivering work ranging from Bridges and Wharves to Water Treatment Plants and Storage Tanks and Pipelines.In addition to the above you will:Manage the teams and sub-contractors within your area and coordinate with the other teams to ensure optimisation of resources and efficiencyDevelop advice including construction plans and documentationPlan the execution of the works and develop construction methodology for all elements of the worksProvide a monthly forecast of cost to complete to the commercial manager, and an estimate of the work completed in terms of percentages complete to the plannerOptimise the use of material, plant and labourReport progress and performance Maintain a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your teamUndertake regular inspections to ensure that safety, environmental, and quality standards are achieve across the projectGood Work equals Good BenefitsMedical insurance for you and your whānau. What we’re looking for:This position requires the leadership, energy, structures construction knowledge and the capability to be hands on, providing coaching and mentoring to team members on various technical elements, ensuring that work is completed to deadline and a high quality. You will have proven experience in major civil D&C construction projects and be familiar with NZS3916 and the Construction Contracts Act. You will be well versed in using these principals to get the job completed within the timeframe, budget and claim entitlements. You will have a strong history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors.As a Project Engineer you will have:Proven experience managing budgets and programmesExcellent leadership qualitiesDemonstrated interpersonal and communication skillsFinancial focus towards project costsProven ability in subcontractor managementYou will need a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer and have a BE, NZCE or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
