Established in 1954, CSW/ST2 is one of the largest Civil Engineering and related discipline firms in the North Bay and is known for our creative, cost-effective designs and practical, workable solutions to design challenges. Clients include residential and commercial developers, local and corporations, public and private primary schools, colleges and universities, medical and research institutions, architects, homeowners, and municipal, state and federal agencies. Recent projects include: UC Berkeley, UCSF Children’s Hospital, Precision Cancer Medical Building/UCSF, Cove Stormwater Pump Station/Tiburon and the Northgate Redevelopment/San Rafael, TAM Transit Facilities and approach to the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge.

We seek a

Project Engineer

to prepare civil engineering design plans and specifications for grading, drainage, sanitary sewer, water distribution and roads associated with private, public and institutional development.

This is a salaried, full time position with benefits.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Serves as assistant to project manager to handle specialized duties, e.g. cost/schedule control and document control.

Participates in preparing proposals.

Performs professional level engineering work in own specialty, on a variety of assigned tasks which regularly have uncommon and/or complex features.

Provides technical guidance and direction to other engineers.

Writes construction specifications and prepares cost estimates.

Reviews and approves shop drawings.

Resolves field problems occurring during construction.

Reviews work of other engineers, designers and technicians to ensure quality.

Researches literature and professional journals and develops solutions to complex engineering problems.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED :

We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!

5-10 years of professional engineering experience in a civil or similar field.

AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.

HES-RAS Software is a plus. FloMASTER Software is a plus.

Keeps up to date on applicable codes and regulations.

Stays current with changing technology.

Takes a minimum of 8 hours of approved training per year.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS :

Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Planning, or related field.

Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, or the ability to obtain license is preferred.
