Project Engineer - Energy Assets – Cork/DublinPermanentReporting to: Net Zero LeadOur client is one of Ireland's leading energy suppliers, providing gas, electricity, and energy to more than over , homes and businesses across the country, offering excellent customer service as well as the best value possible. They are currently involved in multiple large-scale energy initiatives with budgets in the billions and are looking to build out their Net Zero project team with the addition of several Energy Project Engineers. Role Purpose:Reporting to the Net Zero Lead, as the Project Engineer working within energy, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of upstream Net Zero investment opportunities on behalf of the organization. This will require the successful candidate to take ownership of the scoping, development, planning, and delivery of all upstream Net Zero capital projects.About the Role·Support the identification, appraisal, and development of new Net Zero development projects, including but not limited to Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Energy Storage, New Zero Power Generation, Carbon Capture & Storage, Biomethane, and Biofuels. ·Lead project development in collaboration with design, permitting, procurement, and construction technical leads/subject matter experts. ·Take initial development engineering concepts through evaluation and design phases, providing detailed technical scope of works and plans to support the project delivery phase. ·Undertake detailed assessments of all development projects in terms of design and quality planning for civil, mechanical, electrical, and IT engineering aspects, ensuring projects are designed and ready for construction to industry codes and standards while complying with all relevant and applicable permitting and consenting requirements. ·Support the management of project development budgets, managing resources, including the sourcing and management of subcontract elements. ·Responsible for the management of project development costs, risk, communications, procurement, and stakeholders. ·Support all upstream business development and net zero targets through the project management of activities associated with grid analysis, land acquisition, planning application oversight, and technical feasibility. ·Analysing and addressing project development risks, and regularly sharing lessons learned.·Provides performance feedback regarding allocated resources working on projects.·Preparation and presentation of project delivery plans to Executives, Management team, Board, and Shareholders·Work closely with a number of disciplines to deliver optimal solutions across external and internal resources including, Finance, Trading, Legal and Technical·Informing and driving consistent commercial thinking across the projects and relevant business areas; working closely with supporting functions·Maintain good working knowledge of key commercial and regulatory value drivers for delivering upstream assets in the Irish Market.Experience required: ·3rd Level Qualification in relevant discipline with a minimum 7 years post qualification experience and relevant industry knowledge – i.e. project development, project management, project delivery. ·Project Management experience across conventional, renewable, and energy-enabling infrastructure assets.·Understanding of regulatory and operational market landscape with an ability to grasp the key commercial drivers in relation to delivering new assets, including what are the key drivers for value enhancement.·Excellent analytical skills and detail-oriented particularly with regards to development risk, uncertainty, numerical analysis, legal documentation, and written reports.·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to disseminate complex information in a simple and transparent manner.·Able to manage involvement in a number of simultaneous initiatives, deliver work to agreed deadlines, and work well with a variety of individuals.
