Project Engineer Inter Array Cable
PROJECT ENGINEER - INTER ARRAY CABLE Location: Hamburg, Germany Duration: Permanent, full time
RESPONSIBILITIES: * Be an integral part of the interdisciplinary "Inter Array Cable" work package. * Effectively collaborate on subsea cable engineering related aspects necessary for the successful completion of the inter array and interconnector cable systems. * Manage internal and external studies and consultancies for specific engineering scopes. * Conduct subsea cable ampacity calculations and lead the design for subsea cable and cable components. * Actively participate in the preparation of technical specifications for the design and construction of the inter array and interconnector cable systems. * Take a hands-on role in the preparation, negotiation, and award of supply contracts, as well as in the examination and evaluation of offered technical solutions. * Support the design, construction, and consenting processes, including reviews of documents and the delivered technical solutions for compliance with specified requirements. * Play a key role in strengthening interfaces with other work packages and work streams within the project.
REQUIREMENTS * A master's degree or the equivalent in Electrical Engineering. * Extensive knowledge of the construction of high voltage subsea cables and at least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position, including substantial project work and project implementation skills. * Experience in offshore wind and Inter Array Cabling is desirable. * A good understanding of HSE requirements, international cable design standards, and UK construction law, as well as local standards and requirements for appropriate engineering works. * Experience in participating in contract negotiations and in contract management of large infrastructure investment projects is desirable. * Passionate about sustainable energy projects with flexibility and willingness to travel. * Fluency in Business English; German is a plus. * Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks, taking initiative and ownership. * Strong team player with good communication and persuasion skills, enjoying work within intercultural teams
