Project Engineer - Land Development

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary: A leading civil engineering firm in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Project Engineer to manage multiple land development projects. This role is perfect for candidates with experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial land development design and project management. The ideal candidate will have strong client management skills, project oversight abilities, and a proven track record in team leadership. An active PE Certification (registered in North Carolina or obtainable within six months) is required.
What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage multiple land development projects, ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop project specifications, schedules, and cost estimates while coordinating project phases and personnel.
  • Oversee project operations, monitor progress, resolve issues, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Review team deliverables before client, municipal, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Attend client meetings, deliver presentations, and participate in marketing activities.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, manage budgets, and ensure timely invoicing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Active PE Certification (registered in North Carolina or obtainable within six months).
  • Experience in land development design and project management (residential, commercial, or industrial).
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and ordinances related to land development.
  • Client management experience, including RFP proposals and budget preparation.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership abilities to manage multiple employees and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client, municipal, and stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management best practices, including maintaining project scopes and deliverables.


Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
