Project Engineer / Project Coordinator (Buildings)

About North East Link The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project. The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project. The Central Package will be delivered as a Public-Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads. About the Opportunity: As a Project Coordinator within our Buildings team, you will be an integral part of the project team and will be required  to Coordinate on-site building functions for allocated projects to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities. Position Specific Responsibilities include: Coordinate on-site construction activities to achieve project time and budget objectives.  Responsible to develop and implement procedures to achieve quality, safety, timely production and compliance with budgets.  Reporting production costs daily, weekly, and monthly.  Procurement of subcontractors .  Key Accountabilities: Coordinating construction activities to ensure projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications. Ensuring installation works in the field are being undertaken in accordance with the project specification and appropriate design standards. Assist with managing construction staff and sub-contractors in planning and executing work onsite. Assist with managing and monitoring critical components of the project such as structure, façade and fit-out. Quality Assurance. With proven site experience on mid to large-scale commercial projects, your skillset will also include: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Building or similar. Background in Engineering, Construction, and delivery process. Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual documentation delivery. Commercial and financial understanding of the construction industry. Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia. Knowledge of Design, Estimating and Procurement. A hands-on understanding of structure, steel, finishes, façade, and services. Minimum requirements for this role are: Masters or Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or Construction Management   3-5 years’ experience in Building works, Structure, Services & fitout Project wide level of planning, development, and review of complex projects  Delivery of minor projects to program and budget specifications  Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards, and implications for project accountabilities  Understanding of Project Design, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Plans  Drafting of subcontract scopes of work for work contracts > $2M  What We Offer: Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
