Project Engineer – Risk Queensland Government-owned corporation, Sunwater is planning for the construction of a new dam wall immediately downstream from the existing Paradise Dam on the Burnett River. The project is a large, multi-year project that will ensure a safe and secure water supply for the Bundaberg region for future generations. This role is part of the Paradise Alliance, formed by Sunwater to deliver the Paradise Dam Improvement Project, with CPB Contractors / Georgiou appointed as major construction partner and GHD as the ongoing design partner. About the role: The Risk Engineer will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with construction projects. They will utilise their expertise in civil engineering principles and risk management techniques to ensure project success by minimizing potential hazards, financial losses, and delays Based in Fotitude Valley untill Construction commences Experience in delivery of large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects Conduct thorough assessments of potential risks associated with civil construction projects Utilise quantitative and qualitative methods to analyse the likelihood and impact of identified risks on project objectives, schedule, and budget Develop comprehensive risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders Implement proactive measures to monitor project risk throughout the construction lifecycle, including regular progress reviews, site inspections, and risk reassessments What you’re good at: The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders Proven experience in risk management within the civil construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and regulatory requirements Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make data-driven decisions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Our best offer: Australian owned and CCF multiple award-winning national business with a strong pipeline of upcoming projects and opportunities for career development Supportive leadership teams who care for and mentor you to achieve your full potential Values-led organisation guided by care, integrity and excellence in everything we do Fully maintained Company Vehicle/Vehicle Allowances are provided Growing business with exciting career development opportunities Georgiou are committed to an inclusive workforce and welcome applications of candidates from culturally diverse backgrounds, people with disabilities, people who identify as LGBTIQ+ and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.
