Project & Interface Engineer - FPSO (Venus Project)

NES Fircroft is delighted to be partnered with a major Energy operator looking to add a Project & Interface Engineer to work on their major FPSO project.

The role will be working from our clients offices in La Defense, Paris. It will be contract based for an initial 12 months duration. Role will be to work Monday - Friday, in return an attractive "all in" day rate of pay will be on offer.

About role
The service holder will be in charge of providing support to the FPSO Manager and the FPSO Team, during the engineering studies and CCFT preparation for the FPSO of Venus Project and coordinating the interfaces for the FPSO package.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to H3SE, to implement and control HSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility and to comply with H3SE training requirements needed to perform the services.
  • Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, promote and enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within the Project
  • Actively coordinate with the FPSO team members to ensure progress on Engineering studies, Contract finalization, and Project preparation,
  • Provide support to the FPSO Manager and the FPSO engineering team, in coordinating the engineering studies performed for the FPSO Contractors
  • Manage resolution of technical issues in coordination with technical specialists in charge when/if relevant and/or associated to interfaces,
  • Develop internal procedures as required for the project.
  • Assist in development and follow-up of the planning for the FPSO Package,
  • Organize and participate to Project Reviews.
  • Anticipate problems and propose solutions or optimizations to the FPSO Package Manager.
  • Assist and support the FPSO Manager on all aspects of the FPSO related Call For Tender, Clarification & evaluation process, and contracts management,
  • Participate in CFT clarification meeting, and ensure follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate with FPSO contract engineer for the follow-up of correspondence and contract activities throughout the full CFT process.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the RTA, in coordination with the full FPSO team,
  • Be aware of the Interface Management lessons & learns on similar Projects and take benefit of them for the GPI / Project.
  • Define, maintain, and implement (or ensure implementation of) Interface Management policies, plans, procedures and requirements for Project and Contractors,
  • Identify or have identified all interfaces for FPSO resulting from the split of work packages and make sure the corresponding split of responsibilities is covered at contract preparation stage and after contract award, as necessary,
  • Organize weekly and/or monthly coordination meetings with Package Interface Correspondents and corresponding Contractor’s Interface Managers as and when appropriate.
  • Support and participate to the maintenance of Project main documents (FDP, PEP, PQP, etc.).
  • Ensure adequate and timely reporting to the FPSO Manager.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all the Interface Management documentation produced (whatever its support)
  • Gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to client entities as required.

About project

  • The activity takes place in the context of the pre-FID phase of a major project in Namibia, in affiliate being created and whose challenges and scope are currently being defined. The Venus GPI is a multidisciplinary team that coordinates the development studies managed by client on the Deep-Water discoveries of offshore Namibia.
  • The technical challenges the GPI / Project will face are the reservoirs development and management, the EPCI & OM FPSO contracts and subsea production/injection system definition.
  • The Venus Project will be developed with the objectives to maximize economical results by optimizing the reserves, the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

•            Qualification: Good experience in engineering for similar type of project and experience in studies and execution phases of large offshore oil & gas projects,
•            Languages: English and French
•            Professional Experience: at least 10 years of Experienc

  • Experience within project: at least 5 years of experience in large offshore oil & gas projects
