Project manager
Job DescriptionJob Description
Description:
This project manager will focus on a series of website redesign projects using an agile framework. These projects refresh the content, look and feel of existing websites. This project manager may also assist with other projects including current web accessibility initiative.
Our client managers work with their stakeholders to gather technology needs. Many of these needs cannot be handled with our daily operations and result in projects. You work closely with our client managers to understand what they need to deliver. You’re a great listener. You derive the value proposition, build a rough estimate (scope, resources, schedule, costs), and figure out the project approach. Some projects may require an agile approach, others waterfall, and most need some interesting combination that will pull at your creativity as a project manager. Your flexibility allows you to integrate into this wildly inspiring culture.
For some projects, you may not receive a fully documented scope or finely tuned cost or resource estimate. You embrace the challenge; you seek out the people and answers needed to hone the business case, project activities and budget. You habitually build a project charter, a detailed project plan, and other project documents. While you are detail-oriented, you naturally summarize the key points for senior leaders. As an eloquent communicator, you adapt your style to a myriad of audiences. You welcome project governance and reporting status; you see this as an opportunity to market your project.
You are happy to work on non-PM related tasks. This could mean performing change management, light business analysis, or administrative tasks. You know you’re on the hook to deliver and you step up with a smile. You also might be asked to use a variety of tools to monitor/ track your projects. You like being in a constant state of learning which is why you manage technology projects.
Qualifications:
● Minimum of 7 years recent Project Management experience; managing all facets of the project (scope, schedule, resources, budget).
● Phenomenal communication skills: (1) written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, (2) negotiation, (3) conflict resolution, (4) able to have meaningful conversations with all levels of an organization.
● Interpersonal relationship-building and collaboration skills.
● Experience executing projects using agile, waterfall, or some combination.
● Strong personal time management skills and ability to meet individual and team deadlines.
● BS/BA required, Master’s Degree a plus.
● PMP certification is a plus but your experience and how you approach and manage projects is more important.
● Excellent MS Office skills; ability to quickly learn new business tools.
