Tempting Recruitment proudly presents an opportunity with our esteemed client - a prominent medical institution. We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Position

The duties you will be performing as part of your role:

  • Assume overall management responsibility for designated service areas, developing and implementing service and delivery plans while translating strategic goals into actionable operational activities.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to assess the impact of the new hospital on the demand for social services in Sandwell, focusing on mental health assessments, DoLS, homeless individuals, and those with NRtPF. Gain an in-depth understanding of the local healthcare and homeless support systems in Sandwell and Birmingham.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare and mental health professionals, best interest assessors, social care providers, and homeless support services in both Sandwell and Birmingham to project future service demand and identify gaps in service provision.
  • Identify and develop strategies to address gaps in social care services and access to services, particularly for mental health assessments, homelessness, and NRtPF cases.
  • Produce regular reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting the impact of the new hospital on the demand for community health and social services in Sandwell.
  • Promote integrated working by collaborating with colleagues from the hospital and other local authorities. Stay updated on legislative changes and best practices in social care services.
  • Strategically plan and implement operational activities to ensure the successful delivery of financial and business plans for Adult Social Care.
  • Provide leadership in translating strategies and development plans into operational activities, ensuring adherence to local performance measures and targets. Address underperformance as needed.
  • Secure improved outcomes for individuals supported by Adult Social Care, with a focus on inclusion and fair access to services.
  • Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders and service users, including their representative groups.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Managers, Commissioners in Adult Social Care, and NHS teams as required.
  • Continuously update familiarity with service and corporate strategy documents, business plans, and central initiatives. Identify trends and changing priorities to enhance service delivery.
  • Identify and implement local and national best practices within service areas to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Project-managed key developments and the implementation of new plans and initiatives.
  • Manage finances, planning, performance, and risk within organizational frameworks.
  • Participate in and be accountable for key decision-making processes affecting identified service areas.
  • Actively participate in the effective management of change within designated service areas.
  • Ensure service specifications and quality frameworks are in place to meet necessary standards for mental health assessments, DoLS, homeless support, and NRtPF cases.
  • Ensure staff adherence to safeguarding adults procedures and liaise with contract monitoring and safeguarding governance to protect vulnerable adults and prevent abuse.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Hold a degree or Level 5 equivalent qualification in a related subject.
  • Possess a Social Care Professional Qualification and be registered with the Health and Care.
  • Willing to travel to various venues within the Borough and the wider West Midlands region as required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing service transformation, especially within politically sensitive environments.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing change initiatives.
  • Skilled in collaborating with partners and consulting with stakeholders, including service users.
  • Showcase a commitment to continuous professional development relevant to the position.
  • Understand Social Services and NHS services from both provider and commissioner perspectives.
  • Exhibit knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and guidance related to mental health assessments, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and services for homeless individuals and those without recourse to public funds.
  • Comprehend social care provision and homelessness support services.
  • Familiar with service provision and delivery processes to meet assessed needs.
  • Demonstrate political awareness in the context of the role.
  • Able to work flexibly.
  • Conduct oneself with integrity and maintain influence within the health and care system, particularly in sensitive situations.
  • Maintain a consistent focus on improving outcomes for local communities.
  • Inspire and motivate others by articulating a clear vision for change.
  • Set objectives aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Possess emotional resilience and determination to achieve results in challenging and ambiguous contexts.
  • Analyse complex information and make decisions or propose options for difficult and contentious issues.
  • Successfully manage ambiguity while maintaining clarity of direction.
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making skills and prioritize workloads.
  • Understand and apply project management techniques.
  • Capable of preparing and delivering complex reports.
  • Work effectively within deadlines and agreed-upon timescales.
  • Operate efficiently in a matrix working environment.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills.

Contract: 3 months (likely extension)

Salary: £26.23 per hour (Umbrella)

Start Date: September / Early October 2023

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday / 9 am - 5 pm
