Location: Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Elder Research Inc. is a consulting firm specialized in providing analytic solutions for clients in Government and Commercial industries. We are seeking to hire a Project Manager in our Government Civilian business unit who will engage, consult, and communicate with clients to understand their business needs, and lead a team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts to develop and build data analytic solutions and tools for government clients. This role provides the opportunity to develop and utilize leadership skills, build strong relationships internally and externally, intersect passion for advanced analytics to both project delivery and business strategy, and oversee the health and growth of a portfolio of clients. Candidates in, or willing to relocate to, the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area will be considered. Project Delivery The Project Manager will drive technology and analytics delivery by managing and leading technical team members, managing all facets of project execution and high-quality delivery – in scope, on time, within budget, managing client expectations and client satisfaction in product delivery, and overseeing contractual, financial, and resourcing data and information for the client and the ERI organization. The ideal Project Manager will also have an understanding and appreciation for data, analytics, and technology, and will have been involved in the design, build, test, deploy phases of data analytics and data science products and solutions. Internally, they regularly interface with technical data scientists, data engineers, data analysts, and software engineers to aid in business analysis, requirements gathering, technology design and delivery, and quality assurance. Externally, they regularly interface with clients at numerous levels of an organization—program managers, stakeholders, end-users, data owners, analysts, IT groups, and management—to facilitate and lead the tactical delivery of analytics projects. Technical: Experience in a subset of the following or related fields—engineering, software development, programming, data management and architecture, business intelligence, data mining, operations research, machine learning, analytics delivery. Effective Listeners, Communicators, and Presenters: You know what to say, you know who you’re talking to, and you work hard to say it the right way. Ability to articulate to clients the value of data science, statistics, and machine learning to their business. Energetic and Creative: Life-long learners. Eager to grow and stay on top of a rapidly evolving analytics and data science industry. Responsibilities: Lead technical and analytics delivery teams, contracts, and client relationships. Apply project management and consulting best practices and processes (i.e., PMP, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, DevOps) to ensure quality deliverables in scope, on time, and within budget. Work with and alongside technical team members and provide consulting support in areas such as business analysis, requirements gathering, project scoping, project schedules, risk management, communications, and change management. Manage and lead technical staff including data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists towards engagement, high quality delivery, and client satisfaction. Responsible and accountable for contract finances, resources, and risks. Monitor and report on critical metrics like utilization, burn rate, timeline, and risk. Facilitate client engagements and relationships in partnership with other ERI leaders. Work with leadership to review growth and expansion opportunities. Maintain and communicate a solid understanding of analytics and data science techniques, tools, approaches, methodologies, and solutions. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or business. IRS Public Trust Clearance (). PMP Certification (or the willingness and ability to receive a PMP certification within one year of hire). Multi-year experience with leading projects within industry standard project management frameworks (i.e., PMP, Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban). Multi-year experience in the consulting industry (technology, management, strategy) and managing client engagements with either internal or external clients. Experience with government contracting or experience working with federal government agencies. Desired Skills (but not required): Involved in team efforts to design and deploy data and analytics solutions that involve querying databases, analyzing data, building data pipelines, and applying data science concepts such as supervised and unsupervised, text mining, and graph analytics. Agile Certified. Multi-year experience growing and expanding federal government portfolios. Master’s degree in data science, data analytics, math, statistics, engineering, computer science, or business administration.
