IT Project Manager
(Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4)
Location: REMOTE
Pay Rate: Open to W2 and C2C for Independent Consultants
Position Type: Multiyear Contract
Requirements
- For all levels (1, 2, 3 and 4) candidates should have at minimum one of the following industry level certifications: PMP, Agile and/or SAFe Certification. For levels 2, 3 and 4 a current/active PMP Certification is required.
- Provide full project lifecycle management of small to medium difficult IT projects from inception to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and in accordance with quality standards
- Provide project leadership to ensure overall success and delivery of expected outcomes in support of strategic goals
Responsibilities:
- Apply and adhere to project management best practices by following the policies, procedures and methodologies established within the Systems Development Life Cycle
- Ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation
- Collaborate and negotiate with business partners and vendors to understand requirement needs and resolve any requirements gaps or risks/issues
- Prepare and deliver status reports regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to management and stakeholders
- Oversee project progress to ensure project documentation and schedules are in compliance with previously agreed requirements and standards
- Maintain and archive all project related documentation
- Identify, communicate and resolve technical, tactical and operational project issues and risks
- Exhibit intellectual agility and interpersonal flexibility to reassess, reflect and shift thinking as projects or strategic direction changes
- Communicate project plan, changes, direction, approach, and priorities based on changing business requirements, circumstances, new information and/or budget considerations to stakeholders
- Monitor and measure staff assignment results against project goals and task responsibilities
- Provide regular feedback to project members and input to the performance review process
- Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors, etc.)
- Coordinate agile functions such as sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, sprint demos, story refinement, and release planning.
- Full life–cycle project management
- Establish and lead project teams
- Develop project plan/scope/schedule/cost/communications
- Procure and/or manage resources/timelines/deadlines/quality
- Ensure that vendor meets or exceeds their contractual obligations by delivering quality products/services on time and within cost structure
- Manage all financial management aspects of vendor delivery and provide feedback on vendor performance
- Ensure successful project implementation
- Manage project-level risks, issues, dependencies, and change management
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
(For levels 3-4 the below “basic or exposure to” will require “expertise” for those bullet points
- Exposure to project leadership and execution, including initiatives with technology, processes, cross–functional teams and external partner team members
- Familiarity with development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Basic skill in project management to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation
- Familiarity with project lifecycles and development methodologies, including agile project management principles and practices
- Exposure to leading agile development teams and facilitating team meetings in agile environment
- Exposure to working and participating in cross–functional, multi–dimensional teams and projects
- Exposure to managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
- Exposure to collaborating across organizational boundaries and building partnerships across various functions
- Basic presentation skills with essential executive presence
- Exposure to leading, guiding and coaching professional staff
- Exposure to vendor engagement related to project delivery
- Basic skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
- Basic skill using innovative thinking to solve problems and facilitate the decision making process
- Basic organizational, planning and time management skills
