Project Manager - High-Spec Laboratory & Office Build\n\n Location: Harwell Science & Innovation Campus\n\n Salary: Up to £95,000 + Car + Benefits\n\nWe are seeking a Project Manager with real gravitas to lead the delivery of a £30M+ specialist new-build at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. This high-profile project includes a steel-frame structure with specialist cladding, advanced ventilation, and full M&E fit-out to create a state-of-the-art laboratory, clean room, and office space.\n\nProject Manager Requirements: \n\nProven experience managing high-value, complex construction projects, ideally within science, R&D, or high-spec commercial builds.\nStrong stakeholder management able to navigate client relationships and act as a politician when needed.\nTechnical knowledge of specialist cladding, ventilation, and M&E fit-outs.\nLooking for someone with authority, diplomacy, and leadership skills. \n\nRoles & Responsibilities of a Project Manager:\n\nProject Leadership: Oversee the entire project life cycle, from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.\nClient Management: Act as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their expectations are met.\nStakeholder Engagement: Work closely with external partners, acting as a politician when needed to navigate challenges and align all parties toward successful project delivery.\nProgramme & Budget Control: Manage project costs, forecast variations, and ensure the project remains financially viable while maximising value.\nTechnical Oversight: Lead on specialist elements such as cladding, ventilation, and M&E fit-out, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.\nRisk Management: Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or cost overruns.\nTeam Leadership: Coordinate and manage the site team, subcontractors, and consultants, driving performance and accountability.\nReporting & Communication: Provide regular project updates to senior management, the client, and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective decision-making.
