EMBS Engineering is proud to be partnering a well-established, reputable precision engineering company that specialises in the manufacture of highly complex sub-assembly components, through machining & fabrication processes, for globally recognised customers, primarily within the aerospace industry.
Due to a company restructure off the back of continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced, ambitious and dynamic Engineering Lead who will be responsible for leading and overseeing complex engineering projects from concept to delivery.
In this role you will be responsible for a team of 5 engineers and will be expected to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key responsibilities;
* Planning and distribution of work across the team, in conjunction with the Commercial Manager
* Manage NPI – Reporting of First Time Through and Right First Time progress and coordinating activities by others to enable nominated NPI commitments to be met. Also be comfortable in clear reporting on these topics
* Production of Works Orders including setting up a new Bill of Material, setting up Sales Orders, production of routings through MRP, raising Works Orders through MRP, production of ‘First Time Through’ sheet and Risk Assessment
* Competence in 8D, 5 Why and other such problem-solving techniques to support both the department and company development
* Establishing a comprehensive and documented set of Engineering data to control and improve the performance of Quality, Cost and Delivery in line with required targets and standards
* Lead the Engineering Team to deliver products on time, within budget and right first time
* Support the Bid/No Bid process to ensure alignment of new product to business capability and strategy
* Support commercial analysis, testing and development of company cost and commercial models
* Support training and development of staff

Person Specification:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager or Engineering Lead, operating within the precision engineering or advanced manufacturing sectors
* Experience of working on aerospace projects would be desirable but not essential
* Excellent project management skills, well organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Proficiency in use of Project Management software including MRP/ERP
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external clients
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Ability to retain thought and remain rational and composed under pressure
* Seeks opportunities to continuously improve and manage the associated change effectively
* Ambitious with a willingness to strive for success and progression
