Highway Safety Devices, Inc. (HSD) is a Florida-based, full service specialty contractor with offices in Tampa and Orlando, FL. HSD is an FDOT Contractor that is focused on highway construction, specializing in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), traffic control devices, signalization, lighting, and roadway signing.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager for our Tampa office to plan and supervise FDOT construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand project scope, budget, and timeframes.
  • Define and prioritize project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Provide lead coordination &/or input in support of other HSD departments.
  • Transition from Estimating
  • Purchasing
  • Submittals
  • Material Releases
  • Construction management of labor & equipment needs (in conjunction with HSD Superintendent)
  • Invoicing (monthly billing) (A/R)
  • Approving invoices from Subs/Vendors (A/P)
  • Resolving revenue & cost discrepancies
  • Making revenue and cost adjustments with COO/CFO when deemed necessary
  • Understand and manage document controls and distribution (plans, specs, etc.).
  • Development and transmittal of appropriate documentation and correspondence required by the project.
  • Understand acceptable material options & lead times.
  • Manage our resource plan (job schedule) and budget (buyout & CTC analysis).
  • Manage project issues, risks with suggested actions and communicate those findings appropriately.
  • Bid and manage project changes (Change Orders, etc.).
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (DOT, Prime, Subs, Vendors, etc.) to ensure project delivery.
  • Monitor and regularly report on progress of the projects to Sr. Management.

Schedule:

  • 7:00am-5:00pm Work Schedule
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Required) (Prefer Civil Engineering Degree)

Experience:

  • Project Management: 5 years (Required)
  • FDOT: 2 years (Required)
