Project Planner - Site Based
Location: Suffolk, United Kingdom
Contract duration: 6 months (likely extension)
Rate: £400- £450 per day (outside of IR35)
Turner Lovell are currently recruiting for an international engineering & construction organisation who have a strong pipeline in major renewable energy and M&E projects across the UK.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Planner based at site in Suffolk. The role will allow you to work on a major construction project from the civil phases through to completion. The ideal candidate will have construction site experience, have advanced knowledge of Primavera 6 and be confident to support contract variation and claims.
Duties:
- Liaise with the site team to ensure a robust P6 program is in place to cover the whole civil construction and HV Equipment Installation at site.
- Produce weekly report to show planned vs. achieved work at site. Reporting content will include key visibility of progress in the forms of S Curves, tabulations, drawing mark ups and photographs.
- Key feed into the Lead Project Planner and overall P6 project program.
- Monitor resources, and eventual HV Equipment, Cabling and Commissioning works.
- Provide reports and project updates using Primavera 6.
- Support the Lead Planner, Project Manager and Site Management team regarding all planning issues on site.
- Prepare progress documentation and forecast project milestones and completion.
- Ensure planning activities are executed effectively on site.
- Work closely with civil engineering and M&E subcontractors on contract variations and claims.
- Monitor construction methods, processes, and logistics.
- Monitor and control construction project compliance in respect of all contractual obligations.
- Communicate information to technical and non-technical team members.
- Knowledge of construction of HV substations is highly desirable.
Requirements:
- 5 years of project planning experience in large civil engineering or construction projects.
- Knowledge and experience of Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project
- Qualification in a construction, engineering or planning related field.
- Proven experience in working to deadlines, contractor management and cost management.
- Excellent written and spoken English
