Job Summary:
Trileaf is seeking a FULL TIME, Senior Project Scientist with at least 3-5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on commercial real estate projects, to include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs). This position is located in Trileaf's branch office, in Schaumburg, IL.
Essential Job Functions:
- Travel to project location, take detailed notes and photographs of site as needed
- Conducting interviews, in person, via email, and phone
- Performing regulatory agency file reviews
- Reviewing historical data (including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs)
- Prepare and Review of Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessment Reports
- Perform QA/QC of field notes
- Conducting field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air
- Compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered, the resume of the applicant must demonstrate the following qualifications/skills:
- Attention to detail
- 5 years of experience writing and/or reviewing Phase I and II Reports
- Have Environmental Professional (EP) Status
- Strong work ethic
- Valid driver license
- Capable of field work
- Ability and willingness to travel 25% (travel not expected to exceed 2 days at a time)
- Good computer skills
- Independent worker
- Commitment to excellence

Qualifications / Experience:
- Licensed Asbestos Inspector (optional not required)
- Lead Based Paint Inspector (optional not required)
- NEPA Assesments
- 40 hrs/active HAZWOPER Certivication
- Transaction Screen Assessments (ASTM E1528)
- Environmental Professional (EP)
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography or related fields
