
Protection and Controls Engineer
Wood currently has exciting opportunities for a Protection & Controls Engineer. This position can be located in any of the following offices - Vancouver, BC or Calgary, AB. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role Minimum 5 years of utility-specific protection, control, SCADA and metering experience. Experience executing EPCM projects is considered an asset Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university along with the ability to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada and/or the United States 3-4 years of experience in performing protection coordination studies and relay settings for high voltage utility transmission systems is considered an asset Proven working experience of relay setting software such as ASPEN, CAPE, EasyPower, SKM Power Tools as well as SEL and GE relay programming software Excellent English written and verbal communication skills Proven field experience with outage planning, construction sequencing and commissioning is considered an asset Familiarity with utility protection and control maintenance and operational practices is considered an asset Clean driving record/abstract undefined
