The ideal candidate will have experience in process safety, hazard analysis, and regulatory compliance, ensuring safety plans are developed, tracked, and executed effectively.Key Responsibilities:PHA Action Item Management:
- Support resolution of draft, new, and existing open PHA findings and action items.
- Develop work plans and discuss interim safety measures as needed.
- Create and track additional action items while ensuring compliance with target deadlines.
- Submit Engineering Work Requests (EWRs) when required.
- Follow up on work plans and facilitate meetings to remove roadblocks.
- Monitor progress and track plans to successful completion.
PHA Action Item Review & Closure:
- Validate that refuted or alternate closed PHA action items are backed by sound reasoning.
- Ensure necessary evidence, studies, or supporting documentation are attached when applicable.
Additional Safety Engineering Responsibilities:
- Conduct gas detection modeling to support PHA action items.
- Update Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures while ensuring compliance with corporate standards and industry best practices.
- Develop PHA/LOPA guidance documents to promote consistency in hazard analysis.
- Provide safety engineering support for capital and expense projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related technical field.
- Experience in Process Safety, PHA/LOPA, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of OSHA PSM, industry best practices, and relevant safety codes.
- Proficiency in hazard analysis techniques and gas detection modeling ().
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
