Pump Installation Technician

An established, highly reputable, provider of water pump products and installation services for industrial and commercial clientele has an opportunity for you to contribute to the strategic development of this organization. We have been in business for over 60 years and have experienced unprecedented growth as we continue to service the area.

Under general supervision of the Service Manager, the pump installation technician will have a deep familiarity with all aspects of troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of our customer’s residential and agricultural pumping systems.  The pump installation technician will use his/her knowledge to come up with the best way to resolve problems to code using a variety of tools, techniques and performing one’s own inspections to diagnose and tend to each task while following OSHA safety requirements.  

Essential Job Requirements

Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized truck.

Photograph all work performed during and after job as well as after completion. 

Work closely with assistant technicians.

Communicate directly with the customer on pertinent items for the job but do not give quote on new work. 

Confirm all time worked on job is accurate for you and assistant technician.

Clarify all specifications, expectations, and allotted time needed for job completion have been communicated.

Ensure quoted parts list is available for all technician and assistants prior and during loading truck. 

Ensure all materials have been successfully gathered, loaded onto the truck, and truck is stocked with all necessary standard/stock parts daily. 

Bending and installing conduits for the best solutions may be required

Address all customer issues, concerns, and desired outcomes, should an issue, or obstacle arise. 

Continuously work with customers, address inquiries, and commutate expectations with the service manager.

Conduct inspections/assessments/diagnoses. Troubleshoot all issues, utilizing knowledge, tools, and skillsets. 

Work efficiently and effectively. Manage time well for both you and your assistant technician.

Thoroughly complete job tag after work has completed and turn into the Service Manager.

Follow instructions for work to be performed, and when in doubt, consult with the manager for clarification.

Job Requirements, Character Essentials, Safety Protocol

Minimum of 3 years Pump installation industry experience.

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to operate manual transmission.

Must be willing to work outside in dirty, wet, hot, and cold environments with the same level of commitment.

Able to perform all service work by yourself and/or with others.

Ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner.

Operate all equipment and tools per established safety procedures.

Use proper PPE

Confirm all power is off when handling, installing, disconnecting, etc. electrical parts.

Maintain clean work site to avoid any potential injuries.
