Additionally: Experience in Inventory Management of Construction materials, Automotive or Mechanical parts is helpful!
Procurement, Warehouse, Inventory & Vendor Management experience required.
The buyer position is critical to the growth and success of LEN THE PLUMBER HEATING & AIR!! As an LTP Purchasing Agent, you will work with the Warehouse and operations team to supervise and coordinate the buying of HVAC/Plumbing products, materials, and services professionally. Your responsibilities also include monitoring purchasing expenses, vendor pricing, parts expediting, and keeping track of accounts/contracts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Execute sourcing of materials to meet cost, timing and quality objectives.
- Partner with business unit leaders and provide excellent service in support of company goals.
- Maintenance of vendor price lists and supplier relationships
- Vendor price alignment with company’s profit target
- Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
- Verify purchase orders by comparing items requested to take-off sheets; clarifying unclear items; and recommending alternatives.
- Verify vendor acknowledgements and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain good and positive working relationships with distributors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve quantity, quality, and supply issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review and resolve back orders, warranty parts and returns.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in tactical procurement, buying and expediting of service / warehouse parts
- 2+-year experience in purchasing for HVAC or similar industry
- Knowledge of the basic principles of inventory management
- Service Titan experience is .
- Applicants with previous experience in a mechanical field such as HVAC, plumbing, or automotive service are .
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency
- High energy with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Analytical problem solver with strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to driving results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable operating in a matrix organization.
- Familiarity with procure-to-pay processes (i.e., PO , Approval, Supplier Confirmation, Expediting and Receiving)
- Ability to handle high volume during peak demand times.
Experience/ Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, associates and college degrees .
- Background HVAC / Plumbing is preferable.
