Job Details

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to ensure the highest standards of quality and food safety within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to continuous improvement, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in quality assurance, ensuring compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, and all Food Safety regulations. We are looking for an individual who is exceptionally organized, motivated, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently, and adept at collaborating with cross-cultural teams within a dynamic work environment. Their work will directly impact the organization, contributing to our mission of being a reliable force in food safety, food technology, and manufacturing.

 

Principal Job Duties

¨Serve as the lead, being the subject matter expert and point of contact for regulated quality functions pertaining to Safe Quality Food Management (SQF) and related certifications- HACCP, GMP, GFSI

¨Perform quality oversight of activities for product manufacturing by acting as a lead SQF practitioner:

§ Labeling

§ Batch production record review

§ Lot disposition preparation

§ Customer and vendor logs

§ Conduct internal, third party, and customer audits

§ Manage customer complaints, on as need basis

¨Supervise the daily activities of all members within the Quality Department, including the Quality Assurance Lead and Quality Assurance Technician

¨Providing guidance to teams and implementing training, programs, and procedures to ensure SQF, GMP, and Food Safety policies are met

¨Organize, review, and maintain batch records, analytical data, certificates of analysis, and other documents as needed for consistency with SQF regulations and compliance with the company’s food safety protocol

¨Provide independent oversight of processes and provide status reports with relevant metrics while effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards or processes

§ Identify and document issues pertaining to product, manufacturing processes, and quality systems

§ Take proactive measures to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities in products or quality systems

§ Initiate corrective actions to address identified problems and prevent their recurrence

§ Conduct thorough investigations to determine root causes of quality issues and develop effective preventive measures

¨Interact with other managing departments to proactively address compliance concerns, resolve problems, and participate in the management review process

¨Promote a culture of permanent improvement in all aspects of Food Safety, including the development and administration of policies and practices that address quality issues throughout the entire organization

 

Qualifications

¨Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Food Science

¨Food processing experience, with at least four years in a management capacity within a manufacturing environment

¨Certificate completion and training :

§ SQF

§ GMP

§ HACCP

§ GFSI

§ FDA

¨Experience as primary contact for notified body audits and regulatory inspections, process hazard analysis expert

¨Efficient independent leader with the ability to prioritize various activities

¨Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment with a diverse team

¨Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence

¨Strong organization, written, and oral communication skills

¨Ability to work with electronic and paper-based systems

 

Physical Requirements

¨Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. regularly

¨Employee must have the ability to climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods of time.

¨Be accustomed to working in a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures

¨Subject to noise from machinery, and dust from manufacturing processes

¨Will require varying degrees of personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, earplugs, gloves, lab coats, masks, and safety glasses or goggles
