Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead and manage quality assurance efforts on the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Enterprise Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) Solution (EOS) contract. The QA Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with program quality standards and customer requirements, identifying and mitigating risks, and promoting a culture of excellence in delivering mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in quality assurance within DoD aerospace programs, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of quality management systems (QMS).
Please note, this position is contingent upon successful capture of the EOS contract.
Primary Responsibilities
- Quality Management Leadership:
- Develop and implement the Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) and program-specific quality procedures to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Oversee all quality activities, including design reviews, audits, inspections, and testing, throughout the program lifecycle
- Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in quality processes and outcomes
- Program Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with DoD standards, MIL-STDs, AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable quality standards
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure that all program deliverables meet or exceed quality expectations
- Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) for nonconformances and implement Corrective And Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Supplier and Subcontractor Oversight:
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to establish supplier quality requirements
- Conduct supplier quality audits and manage supplier corrective action processes
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance and provide feedback to ensure alignment with program objectives
- Risk Management:
- Identify quality risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on program schedule and cost
- Implement quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor program performance and report findings to program leadership
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with systems engineering, integration, and test teams to align quality activities with program schedules
- Provide quality-related status updates to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and government representatives
- Represent the quality function during customer and program milestone reviews
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 Years of exemplary Quality Assurance performance on DoD programs, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Extensive knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and DoD quality standards
- Experience with quality planning, audits, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation
- Familiarity with Agile development, systems integration and lifecycle testing
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with quality tools and software, such as TipQA, Windchill, or equivalent
Qualifications
- Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Six Sigma Black Belt)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for DoD systems (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs)
- Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, or a related discipline
Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
