As a Quality Control Inspector at Xometry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of manufactured parts and finished goods that are delivered to our customers. Your meticulous attention to detail and expertise in inspection procedures will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our operations. You will work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Verification: Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts and other finished goods, verifying conformance to customer specifications and quality standards. Utilize the AQL sampling plan outlined in ANSI/ASQ Z1.4.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately document inspection results, testing data, and non-conformances in accordance with ISO standards and Xometry's quality management system. Maintain organized and controlled electronic records.
  • Procedure Development: Contribute to the development, revision, and maintenance of inspection procedures and work instructions.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Coordinate the calibration of measurement and test equipment.
  • Quality Investigations: Assist in customer complaint investigations and quality system audits, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and customer support teams to address quality issues and ensure seamless communication.
  • Compliance and Safety: Perform all duties in compliance with Xometry's quality and safety systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to improve inspection processes and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the quality department.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong ability to use standard measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Experience with PC-DMIS and CMM operation is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, especially SolidWorks, and the ability to generate drawings is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality.
  • Strong math and clerical skills.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self motivated and eager to learn.
