We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team! You will conduct tests to determine the quality of materials and finished products as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
The Quality Inspector supports the Quality organization by performing a variety of inspection tasks related to product assurance, as well as quality system and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Reports to the Quality Department team leader and supports manufacturing activities.
•Works to established priorities and schedules.
•Ensures product compliance to all customers’ requirements.
•Performs inspection activities of detail products.
•Inspects product features per drawings, specs, mylars, sketches, and tools.
•Uses various measuring hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, scales, protractors, and other various gages.
· Find and issue non conformances when the quality management system is not followed
· Reject or approve material withinstandard recurring limits as outlined by procedure
· Issue certifications ofconformance
· Inspects manufacturedproducts and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customerspecifications and purchase order requirements
· Assure that parts / materials areproperly tagged and identified
· Perform First Article Inspections on parts along with all paperwork in accordance with AS9102
· Perform in process inspection /final inspection of all machined parts and record on company approved inspection forms
· Has the authority to reject or qualify material relative to suitability to material requirements subject to verification by QA management.
•Creates AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports to customer requirements.
•Uses computer to create reports, review documents, and complete forms.
•Reviews in house documents to customer drawing and spec requirements.
SpecificSkill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
Qualified candidates must have:
•Three years of experience in aerospace quality control or work experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
•Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing shop practices.
•Ability to interpret customer drawings and specifications for detail aerospace products and basic dimensioning and tolerance concepts including GD&T.
•Proficiency generating first article reports per AS9102.
•Attention to detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate and interface with peers, employees, and management.
•Proficiency with computers with a demonstrated ability using necessary software programs such as MS Word, Excel, as well as other common programs.
•Expertise using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, protractors, etc.
•Ability to stay focused in a high-paced environment and ensure product compliance to all customer requirements.
•Knowledge of safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
•CAD CAM, CNC Programming, DPD, MBD, and/or CMM experience is a plus
A minimum 3 years of Quality Assurance/Inspection experience in the Aerospace Industry is required
· MS Office Proficiency –Word / Excel
· Must be able to read and interpret engineering blueprints or drawings and have an excellent understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
· Ability to prepare, complete and present First Article Inspection documents in an AS 9102 format.
· Apply 5S workplace organization principals to support Continuous Improvement
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Able to properly use touch type instruments – calculator, digital caliper, tape measure, straight rule, templates
· Experience working with 3-Dscanner, CMM, Faro Arm a plus but not required
