Quality Engineer

We've been instructed by a long-standing client to support them in their next stage of hyper growth. They're actively recruiting Quality Engineers (Project based) to join their new state of the art facility which will be a cutting-edge advanced manufacturing site.

This is genuinely a fantastic opportunity for talented Quality Engineers(Project based) to work within a challenging yet highly rewarding environment that will test your capabilities to manage all aspects of industrialisation project-related Quality for our new range of next-generation product.

Main duties for the Quality Engineer (Project based) will be:

  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality systems and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF16949 and any customer-specific requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing specific focussed 'Quality Improvement Programmes' to deliver robust NPI launch, utilising relevant tools and techniques with a zero-defect mindset.
  • Interface to customer and manage quality response from first contact through to issue resolution and closure. Drive corrective actions through business to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Engage with internal teams as required to manage quality risks and closure of 8D/concern reports.
  • Develop control plans and ensure robust FMEA analysis performed for all levels of the project with manufacturing teams, align with process flow and robust DFM/DFA practices.
  • Regularly audit production processes and work instructions, highlight non-conformances and drive rectification activities
  • Own the quality needs of the project to ensure planning and visibility/tracking of key metrics around documentation and processes.

Skills and experience needed to be the successful Quality Engineer(Project Based) will be:

  • Experience in a quality-oriented role.
  • Experience with Quality Improvement Programmes, Pareto, PFMEA, 5s, 6 Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools.
  • Experienced in the use of APQP tools and techniques (including FMEA and Control Plans).
  • Experienced in the use of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of IATF and Process Auditing
  • A positive "can-do" attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work at pace in a multi-project environment
  • Full UK driver's license.
