Quality Engineer

A global leader in high quality, safety-critical products that save lives are looking for a QA Engineer / Quality Engineer / Metrologist to join their successful and growing team. You perform a vital role working very closely with suppliers, engineering and production for the manufacture of their reliable and cost-effective life safety products.

Info about what the role entails

Working very closely with suppliers, engineering and production as this specialist manufacturer moves away from the focus on goods inward inspection with a greater focus on supplier quality. The role will offer natural progression for someone who can measure, read engineering drawings and understand graphs etc and is interetsed in a career in supplier quality.

You will be involved in goods inward inspection as well as be working closely with the supply chain to make sure supplier are providing the information they need beforehand. You will also be working with production to prioritise inspection based on what’s most important.

Essential Requirements of the Metrologist / Quality Engineer

* Metrology / Metrologist / QA Inspector who can professionally measure.

* Able to use CMMs / coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) as well as hand tools and automated measuring equipment.

* Able to use shadowgraph, vernier, calipers and micrometres to measure tolerances etc

* Able to travel to the site – you will be working very closely with manufacturing so all work is on site

* Willing to travel to suppliers, good presentation and reporting skills, able to work closely with others

Nice to have Requirements of the Metrologist / Quality Engineer (not essential)

* Experience with Gerber files would be nice to have

* Experienced working in a regulated industry nice to have
