Quality Engineer

LHH is actively seeking a Quality Engineer for an automotive manufacturing company in the Elk Grove Village area. This role will be responsible for maintaining departmental documentation, PPAP, assisting with a variety of audits, monitoring supplier performance and investigating non conforming materials. Responsibilities Perform internal and external audits for qaulity and suppliers Monitor supplier performance Investigate non conforming materials, root cause analysis Create/review SOPs and be able to explain them to all levels of the organization including production line workers Use inspection tools to measure parts Inspect and test mechanizims and equipment Propose and implement corrective action Lead effective trainings for all levels of the organization Prepare and submit PPAP's Communicate with customers, auditors and regulating bodies Additional duties as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering 5 years of Manufacturing experience Lead auditor or certified auditor- IATF and ISO 1400 Proficient in 8d 5 WHY Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving Bilingual Spanish required
