About the Role:
The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that products and services meet the highest standards of quality and compliance within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position involves the development and implementation of quality control processes, as well as the analysis of data to identify areas for improvement. The Quality Engineer will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure adherence to ISO 13485 standards and other regulatory requirements. By conducting thorough inspections and root-cause analyses, the engineer will help to prevent defects and enhance overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to foster a culture of quality that supports the organization's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in quality engineering or a similar role within the transportation and warehousing industry.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 13485 standards and quality management systems.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar professional certification.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and power point
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct statistical process control analyses to monitor and improve product quality.
- Perform first article inspections and supplier quality assessments to ensure materials meet specifications.
- Lead corrective and preventive action initiatives to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop control plans and ensure effective quality systems are in place.

Skills:
The required skills such as Statistical Process Control and Root-Cause Analysis are essential for identifying trends and resolving quality issues effectively. Daily work will involve using Corrective and Preventive Actions to implement solutions that enhance product reliability. Supplier Quality assessments will require strong analytical skills to evaluate and improve supplier performance. Knowledge of ISO 13485 will guide compliance efforts and ensure that all processes meet regulatory standards. Additionally, skills in Geometric Dimensioning and Control Plans will be utilized to ensure that products are manufactured to precise specifications, thereby minimizing defects and enhancing overall quality.
