Join our growing, global company that specializes in designing, developing, prototyping, and manufacturing electronic products and subsystems for the aerospace and defense industries. We are seeking a meticulous Quality Inspector to ensure the compliance of products with purchase orders, specifications, and drawings. This is a Temp-to-Hire position located in Chatsworth, CA.

Salary: $21 - $26/hr (DOE)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional receiving inspection functions.
  • Process work orders forwarded from testing/outside services and update them in the ERP system.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and final inspections.
  • Visually inspect products using a halo lamp or microscope to ensure compliance with customer-specified drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Perform required dimensional testing using micrometers, calipers, pin gages, etc., to verify compliance with customer requirements.
  • Conduct required mechanical, optical, coating thickness, and electrical testing using tools such as a spectrometer, gloss meter, pull strength tester, etc.
  • Complete rejection/discrepancy reports for identified nonconformances and inform supervisors or managers when products do not meet specified requirements.
  • Generate customer-required reports as stated on travelers and drawings and retain them in a centralized location.
  • Review first article inspection data.
  • Schedule and interface with customer source inspectors.
  • Package products per customer requirements.
  • Scan travelers and certification data packages and file electronically.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent or 5 years of work-related experience.
  • Must speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications (industry and customer) and drawings.
  • Must pass a yearly eye examination to meet customer vision requirements.
  • Some computer skills (Word, Excel, email).
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to discuss issues with co-workers, customers, and auditors.
  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours on short notice.
  • Ability to spend extended time doing visual work with a microscope.
