Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with a strong background in ISO audits, inspection tools, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in gage calibration, welding symbols, and inspection techniques to ensure compliance with industry and company standards. This role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using various precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, and dial indicators.
  • Operate CMM equipment to verify part compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Interpret and apply welding symbols and use appropriate gages to inspect welded components for conformance.
  • Conduct ISO audits and ensure compliance with quality management system (QMS) requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Perform gage calibration and verification, ensuring all measuring equipment is properly maintained and certified.
  • Document nonconformances, support root cause analysis, and assist in corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and reports per company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in quality inspecting precision manufacturing parts.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming and operation (CMM-Manger, Mitutoyo, or similar software is a plus).
  • Experience with welding symbols, weld inspections, and related gaging tools.
  • Ability to use and calibrate a variety of inspection gages and precision measurement instruments.
  • Understanding of GD&T and engineering blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree in a technical field is a plus).
  • ISO 9001/AS9100 auditor certification is beneficial.
