Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Reports to: Quality Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves conducting tests, recording results, and collaborating with production teams to implement corrective actions when necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of quality control principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and testing equipment to evaluate product specifications and performance.
- Identify and document defects or deviations from specifications and communicate findings to the quality control supervisor and relevant departments.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and quality control activities.
- Prepare reports summarizing findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control procedures and protocols.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss quality issues, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train production personnel on quality control standards and best practices as needed.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to identify and address quality issues.
- Collaborate on quality improvement projects to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality control methodologies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing inspections and tests.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to quality control.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational training in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field is .
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in quality control or assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma or ISO standards, is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments and quality control software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to [weight limit, typically 25-50 pounds].
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Qualifications:
- Experience with inspection and testing equipment specific to the industry.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance techniques.
