Idaho Laboratory is hiring a Quality Manager to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality department. Our team works onsite in Idaho with 4x10 schedule located out of our Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) facility with every Friday off. You will report to the the Director of SMC and Senior Quality Manager. SMC manufactures armor for the U.S. Army M1A2 Main Battle Tank for both domestic and international requirements. SMC is also responsible for the implementation and sustainment of manufacturing facilities vital to support the successful development and manufacture of armor. SMC is a Special Access Program requiring security clearance and authorization from the Army for its workforce. SMC is a category III nuclear facility. Responsibilities Include:

  • As the SMC Quality Manager, you will manage the Quality Assurance (QA) activities required at SMC ensuring that SMC is compliant to the Quality Assurance requirements identified by DOE, DoD and INL. Manage the daily quality assurance functions. The SMC Quality Team is a matrix organization
  • Ensure that the SMC Mission's quality program is according to INL Quality requirements. Ensuring qualified, trained, and experienced personnel are in place to develop and perform assessments, inspections, and surveillances of the SMC mission. Collaborate with other SMC organizations in the development and implementation of documented processes and systems that ensure SMC's quality goals are met. Collaborate with others in identifying and resolving issues. Measure, analyze, and report quality performance. Identify and improve product quality through continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership to SMC as a member of the SMC Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Support SMC safety initiatives. Provide ongoing, and candid communications with the SMC SLT, SMC Director, DOE-ID and other agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of science degree in engineering or related sciences and 10 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree, and 8 years relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience must include 4 years within a Quality Assurance program and 6 or more years of experience in a manufacturing type environment (fabrication, welding, machining and/or assembly) with elevated technical and leadership responsibilities.
  • Must have a current Department of Energy "Q" Clearance or DoD Top Secret Clearance. (This requires US Citzenship)
  • Obtain a Radiological Worker 1 Qualification

Job Information:

  • The target pay range for this position is $155,285 - $175,922 annually. The full pay range is $89,652 - $215,160. At Idaho Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
