Job Summary: This position is responsible for the Quality Management System, ISO 9001 Compliance, ensuring that the parts and assemblies meet customer expectations and specifications, and leading the QA Department. This role has customer interactions, requires the ability to lead an internal team through an 8D process, and a consistent focus to minimize quality escapes. Responsibilities: Employee Safety • Eliminate unsafe conditions. • Eliminate unsafe actions. • Document safety standards and ensure that they are known and followed by all employees. Daily Accountability • Lead QA Daily, QA Loop 1 Accountability Stand-up Meeting • Lead QA Section for Daily Loop 2 Accountability Meeting Leadership and Training • Provide overall QA Department leadership • Conduct training for employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices • Ensure all quality inspectors are proficient in using gages and calipers to measure, document and analyze components • Ensure all quality inspectors are proficient in using the InspecVision and the Keyence CMM machine. • Maintain a subject matter expert within the department for the InspecVision and the Keyence CMM machine. • Ensure all inspectors are cross-trained and can be rotated • Ensure gages are calibrated • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Maintain ISO9001 and improve the quality system • Ensure that all equipment and processes are compliant with ISO9001 quality standards • Actively maintain all QA documents in the QMS System (Core Compliance) • Improve the QMS System Auditing and Compliance • Coordinate and conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with company and customer standards and specifications. Lead daily review and disposition for non-confirming material • Understand the potential defect • Decide to scrap, re-work, inspect or qualify parts • Review with Loop 2 team as needed • Create interim and corrective actions as required Customer Interaction • Engage with customers to understand their quality requirements • Provide timely resolution to customer quality concerns and questions • Investigate and resolve customer quality complaints using an 8D problem solving process Quality Documentation and Customer Approvals • Approve PPAP, FAI, and other customer approvals • Create and provide certifications for customers • Ensure all documentation meets required standards, highlight and document any issues and non-conformances, and provide to the customer in a timely manner. Statistical Data Analysis • Define, measure, and analyze statistical data, including Maximum, Minimum, Median, CpK, PpK, Gage R&R, etc. • Utilize statistical analysis to drive quality improvements within the company. Continuous Improvement • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive daily improvements with a focus on sustain. • Adaptability and willingness to learn and improve in all areas including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Continuous Improvement. Requirements: • 5 years of experience in quality management within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. • In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and industry standards including ISO9001 • Ability to efficiently work with the ERP, QMS system and Microsoft office applications. • Strong leadership/management skills, communication, and problem-solving skills.
