Job Description
R9 Recruitment is working alongside a market leading firm that is rapidly expanding. They are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. Overseeing a range of works around Canterbury this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Efficiently manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to the final figures.
- Budgeting: Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.
- Procurement: Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best value for money.
- Contract Administration: Administer contracts and manage subcontractor accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Produce accurate financial reports and forecasts to track project profitability.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
What We Offer:

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Ideally knowledgeable in SORs/Reactive maintenance and repair
- Able to work autonomously
- Proficiency in cost estimating and contract administration software; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial calculations and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
