Quantity Surveyor

Excellent opportunity for an Ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to further his or her experience with a Tier 1 main contractor, initially working on a large new build education scheme in Southampton.



The role is to work as No2 to the commercial lead on the project who will be site based; The team will also comprise an AQS.



This is a secured project; Enabling works have commenced on site with the main phases of work due to start within the next month for a 2 year build programme.



Reporting to the site based Commercial Lead and working with an Assistant Surveyor, you will be responsible for management of all commercial aspects including: sub-contract procurement, management of sub-contractor accounts, undertaking measurement and valuations for payments, pricing and agreeing variations, applications to client for interim payments, input to financial forecasting and CVRs, settlement of subcontractor final accounts, through to the agreement of client final account.

About the Company/Client/Project:



This role is to work with the busy regional Hampshire based office of a leading contractor, with an annual turnover for the region of circa £45m, covering predominantly the Hampshire area plus into Berks and West Sussex.



Workload is typically in the region of £7m to £25m in the education, local authority, commercial office, industrial, higher education faculty building, and leisure sectors. Workload is secured on a mixture of regional and frameworks, competitive tenders and negotiated schemes for repeat clients.



The contractor is cash rich, in a strong financial position with a positive relationship with the supply chain.



Requirements including certificates and qualifications:



You will be degree qualified, have around 5-6 years of experience post-graduation, and have a proven track record of successful project delivery in a similar role ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor. Education sector experience would be advantageous for this role, but not essential.
