Brook Street Recruitment is working with our Belfast client to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding business
The newly hired Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of a collaborative, open book bespoke £100M Target Cost gas construction and maintenance contract.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the overall Commercial Team on a well-established and long term, highly collaborative Contract.
You will undertake various cost and value activities to support the successful delivery of commercial and accounts activities, including: payroll; sub-contract payments; purchasing; budget preparation and monitoring; cost and value management and reporting; commercial risk management; change control; cash flow; forecasting and final accounting
Key Duties

  • Daily, weekly and monthly Utilities Quantity Surveyor duties including:
  • Record, check and run reports on cost and value value utilising Causeway Project Accounting (CPA)
  • Calculate productivity bonus payments
  • Accurately forecast, monitor and report project cost and value
  • Prepare monthly and final applications for payment
  • Assessment and payment of sub-contract applications for payment
  • Interrogate cost reports and interpret financial data reconciling cost and value
  • Weekly, monthly, and adhoc commercial reports including monthly CVRs
  • Prepare cost estimates

Essential

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Accounts Manager, preferably in Utility Works
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of the M365 suite of applications, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills with Client facing attributes
  • Collaborative nature as a manager and as a key contract management team member
  • Full UK driving licence


Desirable

  • Experience of processing high volume, low value work orders, ideally Utility Works
  • Experience of Causeway and Oracle accounting systems
  • Experience of PowerBI application
  • Third level qualification in Accountancy or Quantity Surveying
  • Working towards / attained Professional membership


Salary will be dependent on experience £35-50K
