Quantity Surveyor

UK-based company that offers a bespoke fit-out furniture service to Tier 1 and 2 contractors and developers. We specialise in large-scale residential and commercial projects in London and surrounding areas. Our team takes pride in delivering and installing high-quality furniture while providing impeccable customer service.



We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of three year’s worth of surveying and fit-out joinery knowledge and experience.



You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of the Commercial Director’s projects whilst making sure they run smoothly from the initial tender process through to completion.



Responsibilities



* Communicate with the Director, employees, suppliers and clients.



* Break down and quantify joinery packages received from clients into Excel.



* Prepare tender documents, including pricing schedules and contract terms



* Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects



* Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities



* Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate



* Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine material and labour requirements.



* Purchase materials and communicate with the buying department.



* Communicate project status, updates, and potential issues and solutions for each project.



* Upload designs, and creation of finishing schedules, cashflows and programmes for each project.



* Monitor and manage control of design, production, programme and installation on company platforms.



* Continuously review and evaluate project performance.



* Review and update company policies and procedures.



* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.



* Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and verify quantities



Requirements



* Must have three years worth of fit-out joinery and carpentry knowledge.



* Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and regulations.



* Excellent analytical and numerical skills



* One site experience



* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and a meticulous eye for detail.



* Proficient in computer technologies especially Microsoft Office.



* Advanced use of Excel and the ability to create schedules.



* To work both independently and as a team member.



* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



* Must be able to handle responsibility and work under pressure to meet deadlines.



* Excellent organisation and time management.



* To follow instructions clearly and accurately.



* Proactive and enthusiastic about delivering positive results.



* Full UK driving licence. Travel between sites will be required.
