Quantity Surveyor (Groundwork packages) - Redditch\n\nTradeline are actively recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a highly successful Civil Engineering and Building Contractor specialising in Infrastructure and Groundworks within the Residential sectors.\n\nOur client is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join their West Midlands Commercial Team as a Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for projects ranging across the Midlands.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a highly reputable construction company, within a high standards and high rewards environment.\n\nOur client is innovative, dynamic, and a passionate business, who understand that the key to a successful business is successful people; therefore, they recruit the best and offer and encourage development and training along with high rewards.\n\nKey Responsibilities and Accountabilities:\n\n * \n\n Regular site visits and liaising with the production team.\n\n * \n\n Preparing and reviewing tenders with estimators and assisting with understanding the client's requirements to offer value engineering.\n\n * \n\n Providing early cost advice to clients on variations and ensuring only authorised variations are undertaken.\n\n * \n\n Offering technical advice on drawings and ensuring each projects have the correct documentation.\n\n * \n\n Managing the end-to-end commercial aspects of the assigned projects to maximise value and collaborating with the Finance and Procurement departments accordingly.\n\n * \n\n Ensuring all commercial accountabilities are undertaken in a timely manner, with a high degree of accuracy and measure.\n\n * \n\n Analysing rates & prices and agreement of variations and / or compensation events as required.\n\n * \n\n Identification and analysis of potential debt risks and negotiating financial reconciliation with third parties to provide reasonable solutions.\n\n * \n\n Forecasting monthly and annual profit figures ensuring figures are maintained throughout the lifetime of the project.\n\n * \n\n Understanding the principles of safety on sites and projects.\n\n * \n\n Supporting the safety Director and safety team in the application of safety policy and practice.\n\n * \n\n Ensuring that any safety concerns are addressed immediately with the support of the safety team and Directors as appropriate.\n\n * \n\n Building strong working relationships with clients including social networking.\n\n * \n\n Allocating work to sub-contractors including assistance with procurement when required.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * \n\n Relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor on groundwork packages.\n\n * \n\n Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel.\n\n * \n\n Effective oral and written communication skills.\n\n * \n\n Excellent interpersonal skills.\n\n * \n\n Demonstrate an extremely high level of confidentiality.\n\n * \n\n Excellent organisational skills.\n\n * \n\n Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.\n\n * \n\n Must be able to gather and analyse information skilfully.\n\n * \n\n Must be highly motivated and be willing to work hard
