Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (QS) – High Voltage Grid Projects

Location: West London & sites in surrounding areas

About the Role:


We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our client, a leading provider delivering High Voltage (HV) Grid projects in West London. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-performing team on critical infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage all commercial aspects of high voltage substation and transmission projects, ensuring cost efficiency and contract compliance.
  • Oversee contract administration (NEC3/NEC4), including change management, risk mitigation, and claims handling.
  • Work closely with project teams, planners, and engineers to forecast costs and maximize financial performance.
  • Prepare and submit accurate cost reports, valuations, and payment applications.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring best value procurement.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, providing strategic financial insights to the project leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Grid standards, regulations, and health & safety policies.
  • Support the Senior QS and Commercial Manager with dispute resolution and final account settlements.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within HV, Substations, or Transmission & Distribution projects (Desirable).
  • Candidates with experience in hospital construction, or rail projects are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and commercial frameworks.
  • Previous experience working on Grid projects or other regulated energy infrastructure is advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
