Location: Colchester or Tadworth, Essex (Site in West Ham)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Pattern: 1 day from home, 1 day on-site, remainder in the office

About the Role



We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in heavy civils, groundworks, drainage, ducting, and power cable routing to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS looking for a dynamic role with a mix of site, office, and remote working.



You will play a key role in ensuring the successful commercial delivery of our infrastructure projects, managing costs, contracts, and ensuring profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.



Key Responsibilities



* Oversee cost management, valuations, and variations across multiple projects.



* Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and final accounts.



* Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), cost reports, and forecasts.



* Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure commercial objectives are met.



* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams.



* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and procurement processes.



* Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage project risks effectively.



* Support in tendering and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.



Requirements



✔️ Minimum 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in heavy civils, groundworks, drainage, ducting, or power cable routing.

✔️ Strong understanding of NEC & JCT contracts.

✔️ Proficient in cost estimation, forecasting, and commercial reporting.

✔️ Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

✔️ Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field ().

✔️ Full UK driving license.
