Our client, a prominent organisation in the engineering sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Exeter. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to work on a significant £8 million highways project, focusing on the development of a dual carriageway and roundabout.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManaging the financial aspects of high-value projects\nEnsuring compliance with NEC contract standards\nCollaborating with project teams to oversee cost control, contract management and project estimation\nReporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor in the region\nConducting regular site visits and meetings to monitor progress and financial performance\nPreparing and presenting detailed reports and financial forecasts\nProviding insights and recommendations for cost-effective project delivery\nEnsuring all financial activities conform to legal standards and guidelines\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nExperience in Quantity Surveying, particularly within highways engineering or heavy civils sectors\nProficient understanding of NEC contracts, specifically NEC4\nAbility to manage large-scale projects, with Tier 1 contractor experience being advantageous\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities\nAbility to readily commute to the Exeter site, with preference for candidates living within an hour's distance\nFlexibility to work on-site for three days a week and remotely for two days\nRelevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related fields\n\nBenefits:\n\nComprehensive employee benefits package (25 days annual leave + birhtday + bank holidays, £5k - £6k car allowance)\nSupportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth\nTraining and chartership support (RICS)\nPrivate medical insurance\nPension scheme with 5% contribution\n25 days annual leave plus an extra day for your birthday\nIf you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in managing large engineering projects, we would love to hear from you.
