About the Role

StormTrap is seeking a passionate, organized, and dedicated professional to join our team in a complex multi-stage environment. The R&D Laboratory Technician reports to the R&D Laboratory Manager and will have a focus on day-to-day operations within the analytical research and development laboratory. Responsibilities will include multiple aspects such as: managing sample workload to meet project deadlines and requirements; performing tests in accordance with internal procedures or regulatory standards; recording and reporting laboratory generated data; preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment; assistance in the hydraulics laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting and performing standardized and laboratory developed methods
• Maintaining analytical laboratory workflow including sample reception, item testing, results record, and reporting
• Following and enforcing laboratory safety guidelines
• Troubleshooting experiments and notating method and data deviations
• Performing data entry, trending and record organization.
• Participating in test method development and optimization
• Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment
• Assisting in hydraulics laboratory testing as needed

Job Requirements

• A degree in science or engineering (or equivalent) is
• Experience running common laboratory equipment including chemical fume hoods, peristaltic pumps, and pipettes
• Critical thinking and decision-making skills to consider the strengths and weaknesses of testing methods
• General knowledge of qualitative and quantitative, chemistry and mathematic principals
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Prior experience in analytical laboratories is
• Ability to travel as required to fulfill the duties as defined above; however, most travel will center on attendance at industry association events/conferences or corporate meetings as planned
• Ability to commute daily to StormTrap Research & Development Facility located in Morris, IL
• Valid Driver’s License, current insurance, and a good driving record
