Information about Agilent is available at .The Vacuum Product Division of Agilent leads the development and manufacturing of Vacuum Products (such as Turbo Molecular, Ion and Primary pumps as well as related vacuum accessories including a Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector). As our new R&D Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will be joining our dynamic R&D engineering team in Torino (Leinì).This internship will be aimed to deepen your knowledge on a specific accessory of our Turbo Molecular Pump (TMP): the vibration damper. The core of this internship will be the development of the theoretical model (simulation), followed by its tuning using experimental data with the final goal of validate the model.Your main responsibilities will be:• Starting from a deep investigation on the technical literature and papers already available, develop the theoretical model of a TMP’s accessory• Tune and validate the model using the experimental data working close to other R&D Engs. and evaluating together if other info are required• Perform modal analysis• Interact and manage relationship between internal R&D team and university officials• Ensure all the outputs are well-documented (reports) and recorded into the system.• Share the results with the technical team.This is a 6 months internship (potentially renewable for another 6 months after graduation) based in our plant in Torino (Leinì), starting ideally in January or February 2025. QualificationsWe are looking for an highly-skilled individual with the following background:• Currently completing a final year of Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering• Ideally, the possibility to complete another 6 months internship after graduation• Good level of English and proficiency in Italian is preferred. On a personal level, you are proactive, organized and eager to learn. You also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with many external and internal partners. You enjoy working both autonomously and as part of a team.
