About the Client:

The Probation Service is a statutory criminal justice service that supervises high-risk offenders released into the community.
\n
\n
What Will Be Your Day to Day Responsibilities?
\n
Within the role of receptionist, you will take on varying duties which will include but not be limited to:
\n

- Act as the first point of contact for people on probation and visitors, delivering a professional greeting in person, via telephone, and email.
- Manage visitor processes including logging arrival/departure times, notifying staff, and issuing visitor passes and security fobs.
- Handle all reception-based enquiries efficiently and with a customer-focused approach.
- Oversee building logistics, including managing mail, ordering PPE and office supplies, receiving deliveries, and organising bookings for rooms, hot desks, and parking.
- Support meetings and events by setting up rooms, managing equipment, and registering attendees as required.
- Administer bus fares, travel warrants, and petty cash, including transporting funds between sites.
- Ensure building safety and security by performing tasks like fire alarm and panic button tests, monitoring CCTV, and acting as a Fire Warden or First Aider when necessary.
- Report building faults, maintain logs of repairs, and escalate urgent maintenance issues to appropriate channels.
- Respond to and defuse potentially volatile situations, recognising when to involve management or external security, and taking appropriate actions for safeguarding or risk concerns.
- Cover late-night reporting shifts (up to 9pm) approximately once every 3-4 weeks (Monday - Thursday).
