Reliability Engineer

Job Summary:An exciting opportunity to join the Advanced Lifetime Technology Assessment Reliability team. As a Reliability Engineer, you will have the opportunity to apply AQG324 Power Cycle stress strategies as well as support additional reliability stress operations. You will be working in a multi-cultural, cross functional engineering team performing reliability evaluation of new drivetrain power module products for introduction into the electric vehicle automotive market. 5% travel both domestic and/or international is possible.Performance Objectives:• Gain a full understanding of the automotive reliability specifications and guidelines including AQG324.• Collaborate with our team of engineers to support reliability operations.• Provide device fail characterization and limited package failure analysis.• Work with New Product Development, Advanced Packaging Reliability, and Applications engineers to support Look Ahead Reliability and Qualification of ON Semiconductor power modules.• Generate stress reports for distribution and archival.• Support stress methods and data collection to be utilized in the evaluation of new products.• Be able to configure, assemble, and debug power cycle test systems for lifetime assessment.• Be able to configure, assemble, and debug fluid delivery systems for cooling power modules.• Become proficient in running MTP Reliability activities such as PCT, HTRB, HTGB, SCIS, UIS and more.• Be safety minded about power and other lab hazards. Executing Early Reliability test to assess risks extracted in the early phase of process development and perform Intrinsic Reliability test for Process Qualification Test event execution per procedure and qualification plan Summarizing reliability test results Requirements:• Bachelor’s Degree in EE, ET, or EMET plus 10+ years in the power semiconductors field or master’s degree plus 5+ years in the semiconductor industry.• Individual must be able to multi-task as an individual and in team environments.• Laboratory experience with power semiconductor products (IGBT, Diode, MOSFET required.• Individual must have excellent problem-solving skills.• Individual must have excellent organizational skills.• Must have excellent communication skills verbal as well as written (English).Preferred Qualifications• Experience in performing high current analog circuit design• Experience developing complex software applications in NI LabVIEW• AutoCAD experience for documentation of designs• Should have a strong understanding of device and package failure analysis techniques• Should have a strong understanding of Power and Thermal calculations.• Experience developing embedded control systems.• Strong understanding of high current power delivery (50ADC-2000ADC).• Interested in bringing the most advanced Power Semiconductors to the Automotive Industry.onsemi (Nasdaq: ON) is driving disruptive innovations to help build a better future.
