Job Description: Structural Engineer
Perform Structural Designs and Analysis for Wireless Telecommunications project sites such as:
Building Rooftop Cellular Installations (RAM SBeam, Enercalc, Risa3D, STAAD Pro)
Elevated Water Storage Tanks (MathCAD, MS Excel)
Monopole Towers, Self-Supported and Guyed Latticed Towers (tnxTower, MathCAD, MS Excel)
Caisson and Mat Foundations (L-Pile, MathCAD, MS Excel)
Tower mounted antenna supporting platforms and sector mounts
Small Cell installations on wooden and steel utility poles (O-Calc Pro, MathCAD)
Work with the licensed structural engineer to review and revise the calculations and designs as needed.
Read, analyze & understand the specific project scope of work.
Identify any potential project constraints/challenges and inform the Project Team
Attend & perform site visits/walks with the project manager and the customer when needed
Perform structural mappings on rooftops and take measurements on sites and collect data from the field sufficient to perform the designs in the office side.
Having the ability to assist other teams with Civil and/or Architectural Designs as needed whenever workload changes is considered a HUGE plus.
Having the Ability to travel out of Illinois state is not a requirement but is considered a plus.
Having an EIT, PE or SE is always considered a huge plus as we are always looking for our team members to grow and continue their professional development.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
BS or MS Degree in Structural Engineering.
4 years experience in Structural Engineering design, with 2-years experience in telecommunication design preferred (cell towers, wireless antenna mounts, steel platforms, structural detailing)
Working knowledge of Building Codes and Design Standards like IBC, ASCE 7-16, AISC 360, TIA-222-H with emphasis on wind and seismic load analysis.
Design and evaluation of Structural Steel and Concrete framed buildings for the loads imposed by the wireless equipment installations.
Ability to be a self-starter and highly motivated.
Great organizational skills are extremely important.
Software Utilization:
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Risa 3D, Mathcad, MS Excel is required.
Experience or working knowledge of tnxTower, Enercalc, RAM SBeam, STAAD Pro, O-Calc Pro, L-Pile is a plus.
