Renewable Energy Engineer
They are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Renewable Energy Services group in a hybrid role, working primarily on Solar Farm projects with additional Battery Energy Storage and wind projects on the private development side. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil/site design, specifically for renewable energy projects, with expertise in site plans, grading design, and stormwater/hydraulic calculations. Familiarity with State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), Department of Environmental Conservation stormwater permitting, and code review is also required.
The Renewable Energy Services group has completed 80 renewable energy projects since 2020, covering 350 MWs, 400,000 solar modules, and over 1,500 acres. They average three new project wins per month, providing full project lifecycle services from surveys, feasibility studies, and permitting, to design, construction documentation, and construction observation.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility.
Assist in the preparation of preliminary site layouts.
Develop comprehensive designs for solar projects, including site plans, structural drawings, and engineering calculations.
Produce site plans and construction documents for permit approvals and construction phases.
Support the permitting application processes.
Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal team members.
Provide high-quality design and technical implementation within project scope, timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
Civil Engineer with site development and AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency; some solar project experience is , though 8+ years is ideal.
EIT or PE .
Self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in-office. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
